Magnolia Easter Egg Tabletop Decoration

Good morning! Hope you all had a great weekend?  Today I made another "anything but a card" project to coincide with the huge Easter - Spring Extravaganza contest going on over at the Magnolia-licious Highlights blog. I have a tabletop decoration for Easter to share with you:

I picked up this hollow foam  easter egg from Michael's Arts & Crafts. I actually bought it last year but I never got the chance to make something with it. This year, I gave myself plenty of time.  I cut off the front of the egg with my Dremel tool to reveal the hollow core then decorated the interior with easter grass and various Magnolia images.

The Magnolia images I used for this project are:

Magnolia tree
Tulip Walkway
Little Birds
Sun
Chicken in Egg
Tilda with Bunny

My flowers are from WOC and the gingham ribbon is from Really Reasonable Ribbon.  I used a Magnolia Doohickey die to cut out the scrolls and a Martha Stewart butterfly punch for my butterflies. I used copics to color my image but unfortunally forgot to keep track of all my colors. Sorry about that, promise to do better next time!! ;)

I really had fun making this project. I hope you like it too and can leave me a comment telling me what you think. Thanks in advance for all your lovely comments! Have a great week!

  20. Hello Grammypame! I didn't have your email so I couldn't respond to you that way. So hopefully you will check back here for the answer to your question. This egg is about 10 inches tall. There are many different sized eggs at Michaels but this size fitted my needs for this project. Thanks, take care, Angela
