Magnolia Easter Egg Tabletop Decoration

Good morning! Hope you all had a great weekend?  Today I made another "anything but a card" project to coincide with the huge Easter - Spring Extravaganza contest going on over at the Magnolia-licious Highlights blog. I have a tabletop decoration for Easter to share with you:

I picked up this hollow foam  easter egg from Michael's Arts & Crafts. I actually bought it last year but I never got the chance to make something with it. This year, I gave myself plenty of time.  I cut off the front of the egg with my Dremel tool to reveal the hollow core then decorated the interior with easter grass and various Magnolia images.

The Magnolia images I used for this project are:

Magnolia tree
Tulip Walkway
Little Birds
Sun
Chicken in Egg
Tilda with Bunny

My flowers are from WOC and the gingham ribbon is from Really Reasonable Ribbon.  I used a Magnolia Doohickey die to cut out the scrolls and a Martha Stewart butterfly punch for my butterflies. I used copics to color my image but unfortunally forgot to keep track of all my colors. Sorry about that, promise to do better next time!! ;)

I really had fun making this project. I hope you like it too and can leave me a comment telling me what you think. Thanks in advance for all your lovely comments! Have a great week!

I really love those pretty spring colors.  So this is what I came up with:

This is one of the first Tilda's I ever bought 2 years ago. I'm so happy to have a chance to use this sweetie.  This is Tilda With Easter Egg. I also used Little Birds, Chicken in Egg and this Basket of Easter Eggs all from Magnolia.

The floral bead picks and pearls are from my stash.  I used copics to color up this scene and they are:  E11, E00, E000, R20, R22, R24, Y23, Y15, Y13, Y11, Y000, BV13, BV11, BV000, BV0000, R85, R83, R81, RV10, B97, B95, B91, B000, B0000, E18, E19, E17, E13 YG13, G14, G20.

Easter Extravaganza Blog Hop

Hello everyone! Hope you had a great weekend!  Spring is in the air finally and today the Magnolia-licious Challenge blog and the Magnolia-licious Design Team have joined together for an Easter/Spring Extravaganza Blog Hop.    So here is the project I prepared for today:
I made this wagon using a template similar to the one I found at Splitcoast Stampers. I tried following the directions but the measurements didn't work out for me (maybe I just can't follow directions LOL) so I just looked at the pictures and did it my way.  Instead of recreating the basket, I turned mine into a wagon. I wanted to make it look like a wooden wagon so I used a mustard colored cardstock from Bazzill Preppie Pack and ran 2 Distress Ink pads across the top of the paper. This Bazzill cardstock has a grain that mimics the look of wood. I think it came out pretty realistic. I then cut the 8x8 paper into 3/4 inch strips and sponged the edges - I wanted each piece to look like a wooden plank.

I really had fun making this wagon. I used Bunny Tilda on my wagon and for my card, I used Tilda hugging bunny.  Following are the details:

Images: Bunny Tilda,  Tilda Hugging Bunny, and Happy Easter sentiment from Magnolia.
Ink: Memento ink for stamping. Ranger DI Walnut stain and Antique Linen to distress my paper to look like wood.
Copic colors: BV13, BV11, BV000, BV0000, E11, E00, E000, R20, W7, W5, W3, W1, W00, B97, B95, B91, B000, C5, C3, C1, C00, E18, E19, E17, E13, E35, YR23, Y21, Y000
Papers: Bazzill Preppie stack (mustard color and black), Nitwits paper
Tools: spellbinder dies, MFT die, hole punch, miscellaneous buttons/ribbon/string/ladybugs/pearls/and chocolates

Well, I hope you enjoyed my project today.  Thanks for visiting! Have a great day!

Make It Colourful - Mini Tilda With Spring Bundler

Today at Make It Colourful, it's our kids turn to join in the fun. They will be the MIC DT this week and will share with you what they can do with MIC images.  My daughters' love to spend time in my craft room making cards for the family and using all my stamps and supplies. It's a great way to have fun with your kids and spend some quality time together.  So I enlisted my daughter, Elena, to help with this challenge.  The challenge is to have your child color with pink and make a card, nice and easy right? Here is Elena's card:

She loved this little mushroom house from Make It Crafty and paired her up with a mini Magnolia (Tilda with Spring bundler mini) image to create this easel card. I had to help her with the easel card fold but she put the rest together. I think she did a wonderful job with this card and she even added that cute Magnolia snail to her whimsical card and look at the stitch lines she drew in for the butterflies. She has been practicing with her shading and has improved so much. She added stickles to the mushroom house for a little extra sparkle too.  I'm sure she would be thrilled if you could take a moment and visit her blog and leave her a little comment at: http://elenascraftycorner.blogspot.com/. I would really appreciate it!

Thanks so much for visiting! Have a great day! hugs, Angela

Top O The Mornin To Ya

Time for another Magnolia-licious Challenge! The challenge for the next 2 weeks is to use the color green on your card in honor of St. Patrick's Day. Here's a photo inspiration with the color:

So pretty! So here's my card:

So glad I got the chance to finally use this sweet Tilda! I colored her with copics (E11, E00, E000, R20, C7, C5, C3, C1, C00, YR23, Y23, Y21, Y000, YG67, YG63, G21, G20). I made the shamrocks using Spellbinder dies (heart shapes). My papers are from Basic Grey and Nitwits. Ribbon, button, sticker letters, and charm are from my stash.

I hope you enjoyed my card today! Thanks so much for visiting and thanks in advance for any comments you  may leave - I really enjoy reading them. Take care and have a great week!
