TOMIC - Create a basket

It's time again for another challenge at TOMIC.  Our theme this week is to make a basket.  So I scoured the internet and came across several basket tutorials on Splitcoaststampers. In the gallery I saw the cutest picnic basket but there was no tutorial on how to make it.  I could have purchased a template for $6 or $7 if I wanted but decided to just try and make it on my own.  So here is how it turned out:

I cut several 1 inch strips of yellow paper. Then I brushed the edges with some dark brown ink so when I weaved the strips together there would be a little color dividing the strips. I have 5 rows vertically and 3 rows horizontally. I used a spellbinder die for the lid. I think it turned out really cute.  All I have to do is add a rectangular piece of cardboard or chipboard to the inside of the basket and then I can put some Christmas cookies or some muffins/quick breads and give it to someone as a small gift.

This cute Magnolia image is from the new Sweet Christmas Dreams collection and she is called Tilda With Candy Cone. I colored her with the following copic colors: E11, E00, E000, R27, R24, R22, R20, C9, C7, C5, C3, C1, E35, E33, E31, G21, G20, YR23, Y23, Y21, Y000. I used the poinsettia doohickey die from Magnolia and also some WOC flowers to help embellish this project.

Well that's it for now. Hope you liked my project today and can let me know what you think. Thanks for visiting!

Fall Fun

Happy Fall Y'all! That's what this inspiration photo says to me:

What do you think of our photo inspiration challenge at the Magnolia-licious Challenge blog this week? Doesn't it scream fall to you? The leaves here where I live are just beginning to change color now and it looks like the colors will be beautiful this year.  Here is the card I made for today's challenge:

My stair step card today is choc-ful of images that I picked up from Magnolia-licious.  Here is the list of stamps used:

Tilda in Autumn Leaves
Is This Your Egg? - Edwin
Scarecrow Tilda
Row of Trees - stamped out 3 times and cut out

I also got this house from Magnolia-licious but it doesn't seem to be in stock at the moment (I believe it's an Alota Rubberstamps stamp).  The fence / pumpkins is from MIC - Eerie Scene Digi Stamp.

If you want to play along with us at the Magnolia-licious Challenge blog, just create your fall card and upload it to Mr. Linky over at the Challenge blog.  You could be the winner of a gift certificate to Magnolia-licious and pick up some of those sweet new Christmas Maggies!  See you there!

Homespun Tilda

Hello everyone! Today at Make It Colourful our challenge for the next two weeks is to color snow. Zoe has just released some more Winter/Holiday themed scenic images. These images are just gorgeous and will combine beautifully with so many other stamp lines.  Today I combined Gift Way with this sweet Magnolia.

Homespun Tilda is from the 2007 Magnolia's Winter/Christmas line. I love all the new images Magnolia has coming out but I do like to revisit these sweet whimsical old fashioned Tildas too.   If you have any, you should pull them out - I bet you'll fall in love with them again like I did.

So the colors I used to color my snow with are C1, C00, BG0000. Mainly, those colors were used in the shadows. I think I will try using a slightly darker shade of gray and blue as the color seems to fade a bit when you photograph it.
Well thanks for visiting today and I hope you will join us at Make It Colourful for this challenge. Remember ** our challenges now run for 2 weeks so you have plenty of time to join us. See you there!

Swimming Tilda

It's time for another challenge at the Magnolia-licious Challenge blog. Our challenge this week is to use the colors green, blue, white/clear on our project. Here is my card:

This is Swimming Tilda and I've had her colored for awhile and couldn't wait to use it. The colors worked well for this challenge.  I first got this idea from Paola's awesome blog HERE.   I used a flower soft diplay globe and added some Robin's Nest baubles to simulate air bubbles and turned the card into a shaker card. The seaweed is from Make It Crafty - chipboard cutouts.  The flowers and ribbon were in my DT package from Magnolia.  These papers worked perfectly here and I got them from Love to Stamp  and are by Pink Paislee (Hometown Summer) and Jillibean Soup (Spotted Owl) paper packs.

I hope you can join us at the Magnolia-licious Challenge blog, you could be the winner of a $25.00 gift certificate. Please visit the challenge blog to see all the other fabulous creations from my talented teammies! Have a great day!
